Jennifer Grim assumes position of Associate Professor of Flute at the Frost School beginning fall of 2019.
The Frost School of Music at the University of Miami is pleased to announce Jennifer Grim will join the faculty as Associate Professor of Flute. Ms. Grim, who was recently honored with the 2017 Teacher of the Year Award from the UNLV College of Fine Arts will assume her position beginning in the fall of 2019.
Ms. Grim will relocate to Miami from Las Vegas, where she has been on the faculty of University of Nevada Las Vegas as Associate Professor for ten years. In demand as a clinician, she has given master classes across the country, specializing in both solo and chamber music. Among the institutions at which she has appeared are the Juilliard School, Yale University, Eastman School of Music, Brigham Young University, Stanford University, UCLA, San Francisco State University, Arizona State University, University of Iowa, University of Oregon, University of Arizona, University of Nebraska, Lincoln, University of the Pacific, and the Idyllwild Arts Academy.
Frost School of Music Chair of Instrumental Performance and Conductor of the Frost Wind Ensemble, Robert Carnochan stated: “We are so excited and honored to welcome Jennifer to our faculty. Jennifer Grim stated: “I am absolutely thrilled to join the faculty at the Frost School of Music. Hailed as “a deft, smooth flute soloist” by the New York Times, Jennifer Grim’s remarkable depth and breadth as a performer of solo and chamber repertoire has gained broad national acclaim. She has performed with such renowned ensembles as the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble and is the flutist of the award-winning Zéphyros Winds and the New York Chamber Soloists. She also serves as Principal Flute of the Mozart Orchestra of New York and the Santo Domingo Festival Orchestra and has given solo and chamber performances throughout the United States and in China, Colombia, Panama, Dominican Republic, Ukraine, the Netherlands and Spain.
